“From UK & Germany to Hong Kong: Practice and Reflection on Documentary Theatre” Sharing

“From UK & Germany to Hong Kong: P
ractice and Reflection on Documentary Theatre” Sharing

Organized by Pants Theatre Production, “Theatre and Society: Documentary Theatre Festival” opened with a study trip in Berlin and London during May this year, followed by the Documentary Theatre Week with play-reading sessions, masterclasses and an international conference. Then three emerging theatre groups have presented their documentary theatre productions in three consecutive weeks in August. It has been an inspiring experience for the organizer, the participants as well as the audiences.

To continue the fruitful dialogue, Pants Theatre Production will hold a sharing: “From UK & Germany to Hong Kong: Practice and Reflection on Documentary Theatre”. There will be two parts: the first one is a sharing session on the study tour hosted by artistic director Mr Hoi-fai Wu and dramaturg Ms Sim-fong Lai; the second part will feature the three emerging theatre groups reflecting on their creative process. Renowned critic Ms Bernice Chan is invited to join the discussion about the three original documentary theatre works.
